Also, ships in the Apocalypse trailer lack them as well. At least the (beautiful) ship designs showcased on twitter all conspicuously lack gun turrets. Of course aesthetics are highly subjective but watching todays Stellaris posts in twitter, I realized that the designer seem to think so too. However I have thought since 1.0 that the way gun turrets are placed not only disfigure the ships but also hurt immersion by how unrealistic it is. I am a great fan of Stellaris and I do like in general the diverse ship design.
